Azienda Agricola Serafini was founded after the Second World War when Marco, after years of service in the Alpine Corps, decided to devote himself to a rural life in the Gris countryside. He and his wife Gisella had three children: Marisa, Franca and Carletto.
Today, it is Carletto, together with his wife Maria and their sons Leonardo and Francesco, who continues the family tradition, with the same passion and tenacity as his father.
The estate is surrounded by a landscape of medium-textured alluvial soil, skeleton-rich and highly suitable for the cultivation of vines; the gravelly subsoil has abundant aquifers, allowing water to be drawn and used for irrigation in periods of summer drought.
Most of our land is cultivated with cereals, but 4 hectares of vineyards are maintained as a family tradition; and it is these very vineyards that allow us to create some exceptional wines.
In 2005 we moved our small winery from its previous location in the village centre into the countryside, with a new building next to the vineyards and an underground area for the ageing and storage of wines, adjacent to our new Guyot vineyards and our Farmhouse Restaurant.
This allowed us to receive our own grapes immediately after harvesting, thus reducing the interval before processing, and to store our wines in an underground cellar where temperature control is completely natural.
What’s more, it has offered our customers the pleasure of sampling our products in the peace and quiet of the surrounding countryside, thanks to our on-site restaurant and shop.
Technology, tradition and eco-sustainability are the founding values of our work. We are committed to protecting the environment by maximising our use of renewable energy. Our love of the land leads us to cultivate a small area of vines but in the best possible way, so that we can always guarantee excellent quality products with all the value of local tradition.
We create wines using processes that follow the rhythms of nature, from grapes grown with love on our own land and harvested at the perfect point of ripeness, thanks partly to the user-friendly size of our vineyards.
In the winery, mechanical processes are limited to the bare minimum, such as long maturation in vats or barrels that allow natural settling.
We are a small company that works with care and passion to offer you great quality products. For us, quality is an essential value that goes far beyond initial tasting impressions.
Head of the winery and company shop, Leonardo is passionately devoted to the creation of wines.
From the perfect moment for harvesting to bottling and serving, Leonardo expertly oversees every step of the process, guaranteeing the quality and excellence of our products.
An expert coordinator of the work of the farm, Francesco works closely with Carletto to care for the vineyard with passion and dedication, actively involving the team. From the very start of the production cycle, they ensure that the vineyard and the entire estate are treated with the utmost care and attention, guaranteeing a high-quality harvest.
With his vast store of experience, Carletto continues to coordinate and supervise the entire operation of our company. Thanks to his expertise and extensive experience in the sector, he makes sure every phase of production is handled with precision and dedication in order to maximise product quality.
Our estate has its roots in a land steeped in history and tradition.
In fact, some of our labels draw inspiration from the Renaissance fresco in the Church of Sant'Andrea in Gris, a sixteenth-century marvel that stands a stone’s throw from our vineyards.
The colours and symbols of the fresco were our guide in the creation of a label that reveals the soul of this land, the perfect combination of art, history and wine.
Every bottle thus becomes a journey into tradition, a homage to the heritage all around us.
